Days after Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall elected to miss the team’s mandatory mini-camp, and word spread that Marshall reportedly asked the team for a trade, Marshall’s agent confirms that his client has indeed asked to leave.
“Yes there was a meeting between Brandon, and Mr. (Pat) Bowlen. There was a request for a trade. Mr. Bowlen has said that ownership will do everything in it’s power to accommodate his wishes,” said Marshall’s agent Kennard McGuire to Fox31 Sports' Josina Anderson Tuesday morning.
Whereas many of Marshall’s critics believed Broncos owner Pat Bowlen would not facilitate his top flight wide out thinking Marshall had no leverage given his record off the field, all indications reveal that the organization wants to make this an amicable split (for now)-should that indeed occur.
No absolute guarantees yet.
When reached by FOX31 sports Monday afternoon Marshall said he would have, “no comment,” at the time.
Broncos spokesman, Patrick Smyth, also said, "the Broncos have no comment at this time," when reached by Anderson early.
However Broncos fans, know this, if the team can find a trade partner or trade partners that will deliver favorable value for their best receiver in return, Marshall will be gone.
That's if...
In this scenario, the Broncos will try, repeat try, to do the best for themselves while simultaneously not throw Marshall to the NFL cellar.
Marshall is still planning to attend his “Camp 15,” June 18th and 19th at Overland high school in Aurora, Colorado.

billyv, 5 months ago | FlagI had high hopes for Cutler, McDaniels, Marshall, just as all Bronco fans have. Ther are other teams that may at any time be better but kudo's to them. Our team, fans and support are for real. Brandon has real problems. Just like we suspect Cutler did. Cutler handled his with one form of immaturity, which can also be said of coach McDaniels but they will move on and both likely be successful. Marshall hit the skids with repeat DUI's, trouble with the law and really negative comments about the fans and town that have only supported him. I gues sthe real question is when a player fails the system of support should they be allowed to play...anywhere. My answer would be no. I'd rather the Bronco's not trade him and let him self obsolete and that teh league has a policy that partially compensates teams who have players that fail willingly and that would not be solid citizens elsewhere. As a fan I am very tired of these prima donna's parading about like they are celebrities and people that matter. While some of that is true, in many more cases it is not true or deserving. Are we so weak as a society that we continue to reward CEO's that screw their employee's and stock holders or athletes that make millions because of fan support, only to say screw you to those fans. I say no. What do you say?
